This was a graded assignment for an instructor-led Copywriting course through Oregon State University, for which I received top marks. The product was a cold brew coffee made from Starbucks “Veranda” Blond Roast.


Version 1 — Flavor First

Our Veranda Premium Blonde cold brew is steeped and chilled for 24 hours, patiently extracting the mellow caramel-vanilla sweetness of the specially selected Latin American beans, with a subtle hint of citrus. A velvety soft mouthfeel leaves notes of soft cocoa and lightly toasted nuts lingering on the tongue long after each energizing sip. A perfectly sunny cup for the many warm mornings of the months to come!


Version 2 — Farmer and Family First

Light roasted from specially selected Latin American beans, straight from the family-run farms we’ve spent so many warm afternoons, sitting on the verandas watching the sun rise and set. This Blond Cold Brew is slow steeped for 24-hours, using a take-it-easy extraction that mellows out the acidity typical to light roasts, and let’s those sugar-browning notes of chocolate and caramel to take their time coming to the fore of each soft sip. Enjoy it with family and friends looking out at the trees, fields, beaches, or roads rolling out to the horizon in front of wherever you all call home.


Version 3 — Blondes Have More Fun, Now You Can too

They say blondes have more fun! But if you normally shy away from trendy ultra light “blond” roasts because the citrusy acidity is too much for your taste, then this 24-hour steeped Veranda Premium Blonde cold brew is the drink for you. Our patient, chilled extraction process significantly reduces acidic stringency while bringing to the fore smooth, sweet, and creamy notes of caramel and chocolate. A perfectly refreshing go-to on warm month mornings. Share a glass with friends and join in on the fun!
