Cold Brew Coffee

How to make the perfect glass of iced coffee at home.

The Cost of Cold Brew

The only thing that isn’t sweet and smooth about cold brew is how much it can cost you for a decent cup of it at your local cafe. Prices for the slow-steeped warm weather favorite can run you from $3 to $5. Make it your daily source of caffeine and you’re looking at over $1,000 a year! This manual will give you a detailed method to become a home brewer so you can get your buzz on guilt free.

Everything You Need

  1. Something to steep in — This can be a pitcher, glass jar, anything that can hold water! Select the size based on how much cold brew you want to make at a time.

  2. Coffee (duh) — More in this later, but a coarsely ground medium roast is usually best.

  3. Water — Water. The only caveat is that filtered is preferable to tap.

  4. Time — Perhaps the most precious ingredient of all. It’ll be steeping 12-18 hours, so plan ahead.

That’s it! Coffee, water, a thing to put the coffee and water in, and time.

Beans, Roasts & Grinds

The Beans

The flavor cold brew will depend on the type of beans you use.
